BLINK THEATRE - London

During the COVID lockdown in 2021 and with theatres closed everywhere, Blink Theatre invited writers from around the world to submit monologues on the theme of 'Escape'. They chose twelve pieces, each of which was to be performed to camera by twelve different actresses. They were transmitted globally by means of the internet and tickets were sold mostly in the same way. My own monologue The Box was originally nine minutes in length but I had to cut it ruthlessly to fit their format. A delightful lady (Kirsty Langley) was chosen to read my work and as soon as I met her at a Zoom rehearsal, I could see that she would far exceed what I had hoped for in terms of characterisation. I found her performance enchanting and I hope you do too.

The first film I appeared in was by courtesy of my friend Brian Davies, a talented amateur film maker. After a string of small projects, he produced The Strange Case of Doctor Kelly (1984) which was when I discovered I was not yet an actor. It was the first of a series of films I made with Brian including The Vacancy (1985), Last Day at the Beach (1990), Lady in Danger (1992), and Method (2011). Sadly, Brian died in 2019.

Many of Brian's films may be viewed by going to LINKS and clicking on Videas Films.
