Strictly speaking, my first appearance on television was on December 5th 1959. I was twelve years old and a keen follower of Enfield Football Club at the time. It was the occasion of the 2nd Round of the FA Cup. Enfield opened the scoring with Tony Lione but eventually the Football League side won 5-1. When Match of the Day was shown later in the evening, I was clearly visible standing at the half way line as I was the only spectator in white trousers.

O Flaen dy  Lygaid (Before Your Eyes) was a Welsh language factual series that was broadcast only on S4C and featured personalities and events of the day. My friend Dei Hughes was the guest and he invited a dozen people to take part in the programme. It was all filmed on the lawn behind Ty Newydd Writers Centre in Llanystumdwy.
At the present time, no photographs or video recordings are available.

Plentyn Cyntaf (1998)

Plentyn Cyntaf (First Child) (1999 – 90mins). This futuristic Welsh language film is set in the headquarters of a drug company where people are used in experiments. The institution is in trouble and Tomos Clay, a student who works there as a security officer, thinks of a way to save it. His idea is to hold a competition to see who will be the first baby of the new millennium, attracting valuable publicity. Over 30 years later, the children born as part of the competition are now adults and there are dramatic consequences to Clay's actions. Shaking off the past is not as simple as he thought. I have no footage but here is a photo taken with one of the stars.
I played the 'Hit Man'.

Scandal Congo House (2000)

A film about the Victorian scandal that erupted when William Hughes controversially brought black boys and girls from Africa to Colwyn Bay. Hughes’ plan was to educate them in order that they might be returned to Africa to share his teachings. Some died when exposed to western diseases and rumours of sex and exploitation were rife at the property that came to be known as Congo House. In more recent times, it became a maternity home for a while and was where a member of my family was born.
